Acivix 200 Tablet is an antiviral medicine used to treat viral infections such as herpes labialis, herpes simplex, shingles, genital herpes infection, and chickenpox.

Acivix 200 Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Dissolve it in a glass of water before taking it. It may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose. You should drink plenty of water while on treatment with this medicine as it helps to prevent dehydration and kidney damage. Some side effects of this medicine include headache, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, fatigue, and fever. Inform your doctor if these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

No, you can still infect other people even while being treated with ACiviX 200 Tablet. Herpes infections are contagious, so avoid direct contact with infected areas and practice good hygiene, such as frequent handwashing. Using condoms during sexual activity can also help to prevent transmission. It's important to avoid having sex if you have genital sores or blisters.
Serious side effects are rare but should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately. These include hives, blistering or peeling rash, yellow skin or eyes, unusual bruising or bleeding, loss of consciousness, seizures, difficulty breathing, hallucinations and swelling of the face, tongue, lips or throat.
Older adults (over age 65 years) may experience more side effects when taking ACiviX 200 Tablet. This is due to their kidneys filtering the medication out of their system at a slower rate compared to younger individuals. Elderly patients should drink plenty of water while on ACiviX 200, and their kidney function should be monitored. A lower dose may be prescribed for elderly patients and they should be monitored closely for neurological symptoms.
Accidental, repeated overdoses of oral ACiviX 200 Tablet over several days have been associated with nausea, vomiting, confusion and headache. If an overdose occurs, consult a doctor immediately.
Patients with advanced HIV disease or those with impaired immunity have reported drug resistance while taking ACiviX 200. If you are not responding to ACiviX 200, check for drug resistance.
Hair loss is an uncommon side effect of ACiviX 200. It stops when the medication is stopped.
