Accurex All Test Urinalysis Reagent Strips is a disposable urine dipstick used for semi-quantitative estimation of glucose, protein, and pH in urine samples.
Introduction:
Accurex Tristix is a test strip used for semi-quantitative estimation of glucose, protein, and pH in urine samples. It is a disposable, ready-to-use plastic strip on which are affixed 3 reagent areas for testing, glucose, protein, and pH. The test is based on a double sequential enzyme reaction, protein-error-of indicator, and double indicator principle.
Dosage Form:
Disposable urine dipstick
How to Use:
Collect fresh, well-mixed, uncentrifuged urine in a clean and dry container.Remove one strip at a time, from the bottle and replace the cap immediately and tightly.Dip the reagent areas into urine for 1 to 2 seconds, and remove excess urine from the strip.Hold the strip close to the colour chart provided on the label, and match carefully.Avoid touching the strip directly on the colour chart as this will result in soiling the chart
How it Works:
The test is based on a double sequential enzyme reaction. Glucose oxidase converts urine glucose to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide..Subsequently, Peroxidase converts hydrogen peroxide into water and nascent oxygen..The nascent oxygen liberates iodine from potassium iodide to produce colours ranging from green to brown depending on the – urine glucose concentration. The test is based on the principle of the protein-error-of indicator. At a constant pH, the development of any green colour is due to the presence of protein..The test is based on a double indicator principle that gives a broad range of colours covering the entire urinary pH range.
