Abipime T 250mg/31.25mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Cefepime and Tazobactum. Cefepime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Tazobactum is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate cefepime. Addition of Tazobactum reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefepime against bacteria.
You have been prescribed this combination medicine to treat bacterial infections, even if they have developed resistance. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps. Inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue, or breathing difficulties while taking it.
Abipime T 250mg/31.25mg Injection typically begins to work soon after administration. However, it may take a few days to eliminate all harmful bacteria and achieve optimal results.
If you do not notice improvement after completing the full treatment course, or if your symptoms worsen while using this medication, consult your doctor immediately.
