AB Liv 150mg Tablet is generally considered to be a safe and effective medication. However, some individuals may experience side effects, such as diarrhea. If you experience diarrhea, your doctor may adjust the dosage or stop treatment if necessary. Additionally, long-term AB Liv 150mg Tablet therapy may impact liver enzyme levels; regular monitoring by your healthcare provider will help manage this.
AB Liv 150mg Tablet acts on the liver, concentrating in the bile secreted from it. This concentration suppresses the liver's synthesis and secretion of cholesterol, consequently decreasing cholesterol levels within the bile. Additionally, this medication inhibits intestinal absorption of bile salts and cholesterol. The resulting reduced cholesterol saturation in bile leads to the gradual dissolution of cholesterol from gallstones, minimizing their size and eventual dissolution. AB Liv 150mg Tablet also protects liver cells by increasing bile flow through the liver.
There is a possibility of weight gain associated with AB Liv 150mg Tablet, although it isn't common. However, this medication can contribute to weight gain in individuals with liver disease due to chronic bile stasis within the small bile ducts of the liver. The bile becomes trapped within the liver, preventing its normal flow from the liver to the small intestine. Weight gain can be influenced by various factors, and consulting your doctor is recommended if you experience any weight fluctuations.
It's essential to consult with your doctor before taking any other medications during AB Liv 150mg Tablet treatment. Antacid preparations should not be taken without consulting your doctor, as this can decrease the medication's efficacy. Similarly, avoid combining AB Liv 150mg Tablet with cholestyramine or colestipol. Always discuss the appropriate time frame for taking these medications in conjunction with AB Liv 150mg Tablet with your physician. Lastly, abstain from certain medications, including oral contraceptives, estrogenic hormones, and blood cholesterol-lowering agents like clofibrate, as they may increase the risk of developing gallstones and counteract the effects of AB Liv 150mg Tablet.
